I ( the
webmaster ) first started this website as it was known back in
June 2000 as Nintendo Gamenet 2k. I spent a little less than a
month working on it and it launched on July 20th, 2000 on
Tripod. I enjoyed ok success there, but I hated those pop up
banners so I got hosted by NintenCube and on October 18th,
2000 I open the site at NintenCube. For a few moths I stayed
there, but I needed a domain name and more space. So I got an
offer to be hosted by the Tech Spex Network and bought the
nintendogamenet.com domain name and opened the new site, now
known as Nintendo Gamenet (minus the 2k) on May 1, 2001. So
here we are today. To give a chronological sense to the mush
above; here is a timeline:
June 19, 2000: Paul Sandhu ( the webmaster )
starts working on Nintendo Gamenet 2k, using minimal HTML and
graphic knowledge.
July 20, 2000: Nintendo Gamenet 2k opens on the
Tripod servers.
October 18, 2000: Nintendo Gamenet 2k moves to http://ng2k.nintencube.com
and begins to grow.
February 20, 2001: I buy the domain
nintendogamenet.com
May 1, 2001: I move
the site to the Tech Spex Network and in the first month gets
over 10, 000 hits.
July 20, 2001: The site turns one year old and
in this time has gotten over 34, 000 hits and has had visitors
from over 50 different countries.
July 25, 2001: The site opens with a new
layout that for the first time is compatible with both
Internet Explorer and Netscape. And we got a new host, Xtreme
Gamez and have a more stable server.
August 13, 2002: Server crashes, I lose
everything that wasn't backed up.
September 13, 2002: I buy a new host which is even
better than the last.
September 16, 2002: Forums come back online.
November 17, 2002: Full Site comes back online.
May 12, 2003: We relaunch with a new look!
