The PSP Question

05-11-2003
01-04-2003
11-18-2000

I'm interested in your opinions regarding the PSP.  Do you think it will receive the same type of hype as the PS2.  Will Nintendo release their next GameBoy system coincide with the PSP?  Also the GBA is a 32-bit system why do you think Nintendo did not put a 3-d graphics chip in it?
  - gamecubemastr

Paul Responds: Its hard to say if the PSP will recieve the same amount of hype, it really depends on how it is shown, and if the general public gets a whiff of it we may get a repeat of the PS2. While the GBA is technically a 32-bit system and can pull of pseudo 3D effects (like SNES with Mode-7 capabilities) a 3D chip was not included because it would have increased the price of the unit.

Return of the Rogue Squadon
Do you know the official release date for this game and for the bonus disk in North America? Some people say November, others say October.
  - Kuljot Tatla

Paul Responds: The official release date for Star Wars Rogue Squadron III: Rebel Strike is in fact October, more specifically October 21st.

Soul Burning Question

Is Ganondorf is Soul Calibur II? I've looked through the screenshots and people are saying he is a secret character like he was in Super Smash Bros. Melee.
 - Joe Munoz

Paul Responds:
Sorry to burst your burst your bubble Joe, but no matter what these people are saying, Ganondorf is not in Soul Calibur II.

Two Phantasies Apart
In the next installment of Phantasy Star Online, Phantasy Star Online 3, will you be able to transfer data from one game to the other?
 - Gene

Paul Responds: Its unlikely at this point that you will be able to do that, but you never know. But I wouldn't hold your breath.

Does Age Really Matter
Dear Paul,
I have a question that's been on my mind lately... Under "Staff", it says that one of your staff members is only fifteen (15), and I think it's great that younger people are getting involved in things like this, but how'd they do it? I mean, FIFTEEN! That's really young! So anyways, I'd really appreciate it if you could tell me about him/her, because he/she sounds admirable!
 - oneal2u

Paul Responds: I suppose you are talking about Jason N., well here at NG we don't care how old you are as long you can write well (but of course if you're too young we might have to think about it). We've had younger writers as well, some as young as 11 (well they were 11 at the time we hired them which was two years ago), you'll be surprised how well some people can write. Actually I was 15 when I started this site, so that just goes to show that kids can accomplish things.

So you want to know about Jason? Well he is a preview/reviewer and he has been with us since early May of 2002 and he is first review was Super Street Fighter II: Turbo Revival and his first preview was Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker. I am sure he is flattered that you are so interested in him.

A Question... Its Just a Question

What happened to the old forum??? It was my favorite forum ever...
  - A Toad that Jumps

Paul Responds: Well in late April our forums (the Ikonboard forums) started acting up and eventually the entire server went down and all my attempts to contact my host failed and with no recourse I was forced to start all over as my database for the forums got corrupted. With everyone wanting InvisionBoard I decided to get that. I am sorry you don't like the new board, but give it a chance, I'm sure you'll like it.

Is it Reloaded or Revolutionized?

Does "Enter The Matrix", the game follow the same story line as The Matrix Reloaded, the movie?
  - DigitalSyntax

Paul Responds: Actually the game  follows the side-story of Niobe and Ghost, and their missions within the Matrix to help the A Team (Neo, Morpheus and Trinity) succeed. There is a ton of exclusive content for the game shot by the creators for the game, I think its around over an hour of new footage.
